In recent years the Alzheimer’s Society has organised a number of successful ‘Memory Walks’. These allow families and friends to show their support for relatives living with dementia and to raise funds for the vital work undertaken by the Alzheimer’s Society. The aim, this year, is to encourage over 110,000 people to participate in one of many Memory Walks being held nationwide and help raise over £9m.
We assist York Memory Walks by providing route marshalls and other practical support and we are doing so again for the York Memory Walk on Saturday 1st September. Registration is from 11am and the 3km and 6km walks start at 12pm at the Knavesmire. For more information visit: https://www.memorywalk.org.uk/
For the first time, a Memory Walk is being held in Easingwold on Sunday 9th September with a start time for the 2.6km walk of 10.30am at the Galtres Centre. We will be assisting with route marshalls and a donation to help cover administrative costs.
