Bricks and mortar business in York have experienced huge changes in the overall levels and nature of customer demand in recent years; challenges and opportunities lie ahead.
The Future of the High Street conference, organised by York High Street Forum and held at York St John University’s Creative Centre in September 2022, explored the big issues. Speakers from heritage cities in other parts of the UK, representatives from key business membership organisations, together with retail and leisure operators ‘on the ground’ in York all shared insights, experiences and data.
Harrowells is a long term supporter of the York High Street Forum and was one of a number of sponsors of the conference, which attracted over 50 delegates, including local business owners and a number of national retail experts.
Head of Commercial Property Matt Hayward, commercial property solicitor Rebecca Jennings and Employment Law partner Gillian Markland attended the conference sessions to keep up-to-date with the latest intelligence on retail and leisure activity within York and to network with delegates – and so highlight their role in supporting both developers and operators within York’s significant and vibrant hospitality, leisure attraction and specialist retail sectors.
