Harrowells are sponsoring The Sixteen concert in York Minster on the evening of Saturday 9th July as part of the York Early Music Festival.
We have supported the Festival over many years, during which time it has steadily attracted both international artists and audiences. Focusing on the music of baroque period and earlier, the annual event runs over a fortnight in July with concerts performed in various venues across the city, including the Minster, city churches and the University of York.
The programme is organised each year by the National Centre for Early Music, based in Walmgate in York. The Centre not only acts as an international focus for promoting the performance of early music but is also heavily involved in a range of initiatives using music within broader education.
